I need to jump the fuse on the psone. Do I have to remove it or can I just put a blob of solder over the whole thing?
It is not junk! It is assorted goods with no current use.Sword_Gun wrote:Klef your asking a whole bunch of videogame players.. for girl advice.. Nice.

Re: PSone screen fuse
As I recall, if you bypass the fuse, power the system on 5v or you will fry the board.
A while back, I bought a screen very cheaply as it didn't work, opened it up, the fuse had blown. I shorted the fuse, powered the screen with 7.4v and I got smoke and a couple of components started to crackle and split apart. Just making you aware!!

Thanks for the tip. I guess I will try 5v first and if nothing try going up.

Yeah but you should be fine, what did you do to blow the fuse anyways?

Re: PSone screen fuse
The reason bacteria blew up his screen is probably because whatever caused a short and blew the fuse in the first place was never fixed.
To be safe you either need to replace the fuse and see if it blows again, or use a current-limited bench power supply so the pcb won't fry itself.

I think I forgot to ground the screen before giving it power or something.
