PS1 Screen Smoking!

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

A lot of people use the 10 ohm resisters, either one for all of them, or one for each led. Ben uses 10 ohms. And I'm guessing you're using 3mm leds, It has to be your screen, because I see nothing wrong with the leds and the resistors.

Are you powering the resistor from regulated 5V like you're supposed to?

Obviously, I am using the 7805 from the screen. Just liked it said in Bens Book!

I'm going to rewire it tomorrow with little neater wiring, and would it be safe to wrap the resistors in Electrical tape?? ohh and good luck on your portable gamejr, I saw that your doing a SNES. Good luck and take your time if your desoldering the cart, I did it and I pulled off a few pins and now I have to get another one. Also take your time doing the LED mod, It was very fustrating but it was worth it at the end, Low battery consumption!! 8)

What wattage of resistors are you using? (I can't believe no one asked this lol)

I'm using 1/2W 10 ohm resistors from radioshack.

Hmm if it was shorting the LEDs wouldn't work. How much amps are you pulling through that resistor?

My electronics skills are very basic. All I know is that it running off the original wall adapter. I have The resistors hooked up to the led and the 5V line.
