Some cheap screens on Ebay

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

mini lcd

Post by blaze3927 » Mon Dec 08, 2008 6:30 am

bought one of those for $55 (aus) including p & h. still waiting for it to arrive but i did ask the seller a bit about it meanwhile and found out;

there are generally two types of the mini 2.5" rear view moniters on ebay
a 4.75 watt and an 8w

both come with car adaptors not ac adapters

the one i bought coulf operate within +/- &20 of 12V but i'm attempting to run it off an 8.1v battery (i won't be using it's inbuilt speakers)

once it arrives i'll tear it apart and tell all the details (size, circuit board etc.)

screen arrived

Post by blaze3927 » Wed Dec 10, 2008 12:23 am

the screen arrived and i discovered....

it could run with no problems using 7.5v

it has a switch to make the screen mirrored (don't know why it needs that)

it has an inbuilt amp with volume control

controls for brightness/colour
and all on the one circuit board

p.s
it does it get a bit warm
