DS screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

DS screen?

Post by Phailure » Sat Nov 08, 2008 9:55 pm

I saw somewhere ( i forget) that a ds screen could be used as a screen for a ps2 portable, but you would have to keep the ds untouched or something like that.

Is this true?

Also, I need a nice tutorial about how to make a ps2 portable (fat one), thats not overly complicated. I dont really care about covers and that stuff, I just want it to run on a battery and have a screen :D.

From the sticky Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use
bicostp wrote:Special Cases
These will work, but need simple supporting hardware.
  • Game Boy Advance - video input cartridge, but you need to leave the entire game boy intact
Game Gear - Needs the TV tuner. Only works with some systems.
Sega Nomad - Accepts analog RGB, most older game consoles output RGB.
Nintendo DS - You need the GBA video input cart. The entire DS must be together.
PSP: The PSP screen can be hacked to accept RGB, but you may need a board to decode composite or s-video to that point.
Dunno where you can find a tutorial though, maybe someone else can point you somewhere?

It's the same deal as the DS. You need the cartridge, and to have the entire motherboard intact.
