Laptop screen?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Laptop screen?

Post by Jimmy » Tue Jan 30, 2007 11:47 am

I have an Averatec 3250 slim lap top with a 12.1" screen. The laptop has a faulty battery and power supply, and it's really annoying. So I'm going to teach the female of the dog species a lesson by taking off the screen.

But I don't know if a laptop screen would work, and 12.1" is pretty big for a portable. So if it doesn't work, would someone trade me the screen and/or the whole lap top for something like an 8-10" screen (I want to try to make a laptop style portable)?

The lap top still works good if you have it plugged in and if you don't bump the cord.

Sorry, he's right: the screen is unusable for portables. For further information as to exactly why you can't, read the 2nd sticky at the top of the Portable Screen Hacking forum.

Not likely. Maybe if you live in Hong-Kong...

if it doesn't accept composite, svideo, component and stuff like that, it won't work unless you have a converter circuit. you can't really find one. ................I wonder...........does mouser have one...........????
