Screens You CAN and CANNOT Use

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

A portable DVD player screen that works well with composite video is the Audiovox D1812. I am using one in my nesp. It would be good for a system laptop too.

These will work, but need simple supporting hardware.

Game Boy Advance - video input cartridge, but you need to leave the entire game boy intact
Game Gear - Needs the TV tuner. Only works with some systems.
Sega Nomad - Accepts analog RGB, most older game consoles output RGB.
Nintendo DS - You need the GBA video input cart. The entire DS must be together.
PSP: The PSP screen can be hacked to accept RGB, but you may need a board to decode composite or s-video to that point.

I have 2 Polaroid montiors 1 has a dvd player, these are the kind you get from walmart for your car 9.5 v power source and 25W consumption Resolution 480 x 234 how well will these work (if they do) with a 360? considering the resolution rate, one (the one with the dvd player) only has video and audio out, and they are the smaller headset input tips like for headphones, but the second montior had both in and out for both video and audio

I also have a Audiovox headrest mountable monitor 5.6 in, don't know much about that but it does have the audio video input, but does the resolution rate make a difference on these?

I also have a Jensen flip out dvd/cd car radio I was thinking about actually somehow just using the monitor and it's flip out ability and adding it to a 360 and still be able to hook it up to a tv if I wanted to or if not just to have the screen on the 360 it self, not much of a portable but I think it would be cool, being able to play the 360 by it slef or still being able to hook it up to a tv

I have a Super Nintendo and what seems to be a endless amount of 360's that I have collected from barter, or buying because they have had the 3ROD (I fixed and pretty much keep), and I know I have a lot of ?'s for a newbie and I thank you for reading all this, but I do have one more ?, is there some kind of E-book that I could pick up for identifying different components on a board such has power spots video audio spots and so on, Thank you again for reading this if you have made it this far

Yeah, I realized that. I was just confused because it was in the "will not work" category

no, an avatar that is more than 450 pixels wide is not a good idea.
also, here's an article which I conveniently wrote just yesterday:

http://wocares.com/modding/article.php?id=17

it should answer all your questions

Would a cellphone screen be considered unusable?
