anyone play with one of these?

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

they are pretty cheap

think they would be all that hard to setup for a portable?

And you can get them for around $35 shipped on Ebay.

I did an Audiovox VBP2000 unit (It's in my PSOneP), but the control board was a little large. This one looks like it might have a more manageable board though.
Bah!

Sometimes cheaper. Look at the completed auctions or the last 30 days on Ebay :

Wow! I love these cheap mobile sets, but will this one run with less than 12v? I'm looking for something more in the 5-6 range for the NOAC/GOAC family.

That doesn't look too bad at all! Add one more type of screen to the list!

Flippin sweet. I actually got a small one in about a week ago. I gotta try it out. A similar one I had would only go down to 9v... but I'm hoping to get it low.
Seems like screen pads have burst back up on ebay for cheap money (I just got 2 for 30 shipped)... But, I'm always on the lookout for cheaper, larger screens to hide the sheer size of the non GOAC/NOAC portables and various other projects...
Of course, now that screen pads are back... it seems like most of the ps1 screens are in a bit of a drought (or were yesterday... )
Cheers! And good research!

i had this and my fc twin funning off my rc car battery.

very nice screen. good picture quality, no ghosting, decent sound (and got pretty loud), and its boards are pretty small.

i havent figured out where to hook up rgb on it but with the fc twin i think ill just go with straight composite anyway. ill take a better look at it and see if i can hook in rgb.

I bought an Audiovox D1500A and it appears to be identical to the EX-50, they "should" support RGB, I just can't figure out how.

There are two chips on the input board:

Sharp IR3Y31M ( 0409 U )

PVI - 1004C ( G0420S734 )

but I haven't been able to turn up a real datasheet for either yet.

How many video wires go into the video board? Mine has two shielded conductors (3 wires) going into the video board, and that says S-video to me.
