Casio ev-680 and ev-4500 have washed out picture with AV in

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

Casio ev-680 and ev-4500 have washed out picture with AV in

Post by grahf » Fri Aug 04, 2006 11:02 pm

Ok, here is my problem. I have two Casio tvs as stated in the title. Both of them produce a very bright, washed out image when im using AV in. I know its not the cable, since i tried soldering directly to the board with the same results. Im pretty sure the picture is being overdriven, but im not sure.
What ive done:
I put a potentiometer inline with the composite in, and turned it down a bit. It helps the picture a LOT, but the lower you turn it the more interference you get in the picture. Is there a better way to filter the picture without dropping the power level?

Also, i have used SNESs and PC Engines as input and they both produce the same washed out picture, so i know its not the console. Thanks in advance for any help.
