PS1 screen back light problems

If you're making a portable you probably need something to watch it on. (Unless you want to guess what's happening in the game, but I wouldn't advise that) Anyway, this forum is your "Hacking a pocket TV/screen" one-stop solution. Share your experiences and knowledge here.

PS1 screen back light problems

Post by chikenman31 » Sat Jul 17, 2010 11:25 pm

Holah forums,

I just recently hooked up my ps1 screen to my N64 motherboard with a standard VGA connection, but when i turn everything on, the screen is just black, although i know it is on because it gives out this high pitched little sound. When i press the contrast or volume buttons, the bar at the bottom of the screen appears but only faintly.

Im just wondering if the back light is broken.

It very well could be. Why don't you take it apart and check? I have a spare backlight if you're interested.
