ZCP portable version 2 working in progress

Post by Gamerlolwind51649 » Sat Dec 10, 2011 6:02 pm

Hay guys, gamerlolwind here

10/11/11

i haven't added any pics or any progress for my zcp work log the last x months.

well, today i have surprise for all gc fans

first teaser V1:

yeah, finally after so long work on it.

or is it?

fail one, my gc drive stopped reading games and it no works anymore, pal no works ether :( :(

Update: 29/12/11

but, I'm as of today redoing it to version two, smaller, slimmer and no disk drive as i used super glue and it no works now. no more reading games :(.
i tried my pal drive on it, no dice. the system immediately shuts off when i try playing a game.

so, no cross drive x motherboard difference regions, no work.

instead, i'll use wiikey fusion, really? yeah. i thought that wiikey was stupid and not wroth it before, but now i see how useful it is over disk drive etc. over swiss complatalty is far, far better, works faster etc.
also lighter portables can be made from it etc.

so im redesigning my zcp portable to fit this new idea. :)
i'll follow ashen's guide to how to install wiikey on gc. he's guide is very helpful and easy to understand, for wiikey fusion :)

Update: 22/1/12

hay evrybody, gamer here
i got my wiikey + adapter board on tuesday that i bought from hackmodford, thanx dude :)
he has soldered all the points on the adapter board, nice :)
left only my soldering on the gc :)

today i did the Continuity test (beep test) with my trusty multimeter to find out the correct points of the pins on the adapter to which wires.

i made a chart with the Newheaven pins (1 to 32) and the wire NO (Number)

now i can solder the correct wires to the correct pins :)

very exciting, more very, very soon :) stay tuned. :)

Update: 26/1/12

Soldered pins 29/23 and single ground wires on the bottom of the gc board.

also cut the little door on the metal shedding for the wires to come out easy.

more soldering wires tomorrow. it's a real pain to do. :(

Update: 27/1/12

finally finished soldering the wires, i had trouble with some on the bottom end, so i soldered those on the top side.

i did the second continuity test for each wire that i soldered on the gc board. i got beeps for even wire.

tomorrow i'll test and see if it worked? fingers crossed.
