Hay eveybody,
gamerlolwind here
and i just wired up my gc av solder points to the socket of the prone screen.
then i plug in the gc dc power plug and the prone screen the dc 7.5v and start up the gc, fan starts to spin, making sound, i turn on my prone screen via my 5v switch mod,
but black screen, no sound or video. i try increasing sound, use my potentiometer mod, it does a little white line flick across the screen just a bit.
i turn off the screen, cube.
turn cube on the screen, try again, screen first then cube nothing.

just black screen, why? :wtf: :oops: :roll: :idea: :shock: :(

Could be ANYTHING...

- Not enough power (volts or amps),
- Incorrectly wired,
- Faulty connection or cold solder joint(s).

You will have to track it down and find it.

Thanx Hunted360,

yeah, I'm puzzled thinking what it may be,
at first i thought my gc was dead,

but the fan works and the system power seems fine, it could be my av wring to my socket 2 on the prone screen which is preventing the audio/video from reaching it, but when i flick my poetimeter, a white line appears for a little.

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab17 ... 010953.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

the 4 connect i solder might have been bad or i used too much solder or i didn't solder the point to the wire and it soldered to the next point.

or this small competent which i accidentally scarched when trying to remove the power connector thing. it's very small and i have to solder iron it to remove.

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab17 ... 010815.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

could this part if not removed also cause video/audio to not show up on the psone screen?

oh, yeah i haven't plugged in the controller yet, could that be a problem for audio/video?

the volts, nah cause i wired up the 5 connections from gc power area to regulator using kasar's guide states. it took me some time to get them right:

_____________________________________________________________________________________________________
22/7/11

i started the reallocating of the five power wires from my regulator board to the gc power area.

i've done the first two with much difficulty, this step is very difficult, i got the first die done after many tries with the damn iron to work
i did the main one, but when i soldered both points in, after they came off. so i'll have to resolder them in with longer fat wire.

25/7/11

Finished wiring the five custom wires to give the (1.9v, 3.3v, 5.0v, 12.0v) after a lot of soldering and getting the wire to connect to the point.
I had to clean my soldering iron because it was black and wouldn't contact the solder to heat up.
i cleaned it to shiny sliver using water, a wet sponge, players to scrape the black stuff off and sand paper to finished it and make it look shiny sliver again.

so, here is my result: http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab17 ... 010854.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i used thick black wire for the four points and thicker black wire for the "main" power wire (CPU).

and here is it lifted up, as you can see the wires are well in place. Had to try to solder them in a few times to fit well.

http://i861.photobucket.com/albums/ab17 ... 010855.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

i bend them to the side, they didn't come off so the unit can fit in my portable + more space for battery pack etc.

Oh, boy I'm glad this step is done. it wasn't the easiest thing to do glad it's over.
__________________________________________________________________________________

it may be the bad/flawty/cold solder 4 connections i did from the av to prone screen.

i'll try removing the small comment on the power board area and test,
i'll resolder the 4 wires to the prone screen again using less and better solder like for my +5v switch for the screen.

Yea, that part (resistor / capacitor) would make it not show a picture.

That soldering also looks terrible. That may be your issue.

Remove it all and solder VERY finely. Just dont blob it on there like a mountain of solder :P

If not, send it over to me and I will fix it up for you :wink:

Did you put a wire in between the two points on the regulator board when you were soldering or were you just using solder as you connection?
