Not easy to install at all. The 90001 is the most difficult...
Took me 2 hours solid to do mine on a slim 79001...
VERY hard to install and if you snap, one pad on the console. You are basically screwed.
DO NOT put pressure on the soldered wires. Bend them before installation. You should have single core wire.
I recommend the image below however!

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
There is also that one, which I recommend over the top one as the top image is NOT a ModBo 4.0

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
thanks soo much for the photos im glad you were able to help me!!!!!!.
i want the 90001 i never done a mod like this but i had dont sodering one of the modsi did was a sega 32x and genesis all in one with one power cable. this is the best work o have done. i also done region swich on a few of genesis 2 systems. the way this mod on this ps2 looks i think i need to no more about sodering on the main chip. everything else i got and was easy but those legs on that main chip looks hard. but i am willing to play this game.

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
Yes. 30 AWG should be fine.
I recommend you getting rosin core solder. It has flux in it so that the solder will stick.
Also, you MUST lightly sand or scratch the pads so that the solder sticks.
Practice on something first as this is nothing like soldering something as simple as a SEGA.

Well then it must not be a SCPH-9000 series...
What does the label say?
SCPH-9000/0/1/2?

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
yes it is a 90001, the diagam you gave me was not for the bourd i got. i found that in the 90001 systems they have a number on the mother bourd which tells you if or not if the layout are diffrent or not. all 90001 and not made the same if you get a 90001 ps2 slim you got the gh 072 motherbourd or gh 71. so the number 90001 just tells you the model of the system. i found thay what i need to look at was the numbers on the motherbourd it self. this is wird becase the 7000 ps2 were never like that. you just see if it is a 70001 or 12 and there you go. but on the 9000 ps2 slims. you got to make sure thar the diagrams is for the bourd you get with the 90001 ps2 slims.
i just found this out today heres the diagram of my bourd that i got from a website i hope this may help some one else. but those photos you gave me were only for the motherbourds that got the numbers gh 71 or a pal uk motherborud of the same system.
i would give thelink but this site wont let me. but it is the right one for my system. i wonna thanks you for your help anyway.

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
Why would you put this in F42 when there's a perfectly good PS2 forum next door?

Re: i need help on my modded ps2
Sand paper and flux does the trick with a clean tinned / fine tip soldering iron...
