Hello, I'm starting a new portable project which will end up being a Gamecube portable. I have attempted this before but i could not continue it due to lack of money and losing parts in a move . So now I'm going to completely restart on the project from scratch since I will be getting a lot of money within the next couple weeks.
The parts I want to use:
GameCube Revision C (Anyone know where i can get one for sure instead of getting lucky off Ebay?)
Playstation One Screen/wide screen LCD maybe
4x 3.7v Li-Ion Batteries at 5Ah (scrolling through posts found these nifty ones (http://www.batteryspace.com/polymerli-i ... arate.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
Regular Gamecube Controller
Wiikey mod instead of DD + SD card (how much memory should i get for the games?)
The case I'm still considering either vacuum form or this case if i can make it work AG-85: (http://www.polycase.com/ag-series" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;)
I will be eventually be making this into a Work-Log!

Re: New Project
I've never seen a silver gamecube that isn't rev c... that might just be random though
Re: New Project
I've had a bunch of silver that are rev A/B. Just search ebay for "DOL-101" thats the rev C model #.

Re: New Project
Or if pictures are posted that show the back of the gamecube, if theres no digital av out port, it's rev c.
Re: New Project
I was on Ebay looking up the DOL-101 like you said and there were some good deals, and for your little discussion here a lot of them were silver! And yes the description for them said they were DOL-101. Should i get one working one, or a 4 pack of unknown condition ones? I don't think the four pack could be that bad, probably disc errors at most which isn't a problem.
Re: New Project
I always buy the ones that are "as is" or not working. 99% of the time the power regulator and motherboard are in perfect condition. Which in our cases is all that really matters.
P.S. gotta watch out though. I did buy a lot of 15 "as is" gamecubes off e-bay and one of the cubes was chock full of DEAD BUGS.... yum!
P.S.S Don't wanna put a damper in your plans at all, but why exactly do you want a rev C cube? Have you seen how small rev A/B boards can be made?

Re: New Project
Well isn't the power regulator built into the motherboard? It make it a lot easier to make instead of wiring it (even with that 5 wire trick ). But exactly how small can the motherboard for the rev A and B be slimmed down to?
Edit:Ashen: I saw your Gamecube fusion post and the first pictures and i was wondering where did you get the LCD screen and the heatsink?

LCD here: http://www.aliexpress.com/store/600281/ ... l-lcd.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
The heatsinks in my GC Fusion's are just normal GC heatsinks milled down a bit and a spot milled out to mount the fan on.
Check out this thread to see about cutting up a rev A/B GC motherboard. Depending on your skill and the time you want to put into it you can decide weather to use a rev A/B or a C board from there
