hey guys, this is my first portable project (working on a gamecube); looking around the message boards, everybody says to avoid some of the batteries on ebay. I was wondering if it's just the blue batteries, or are they all garbage?
For example, this one: http://cgi.ebay.ca/Super-Rechargeable-L ... 2c5ab5346a" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Seems like a really good deal compared to what I've found on batteryspace, which is why I'm suspicious. Hopefully, you guys can set me straight. Thanks!

I used to think Nimh was good before hailrazer stepped in and showed me otherwise.hailrazer wrote:Complete and total junk.

Looking at hailrazers battery guide he says you will need...
Three 3.7v lithium ion batteries: http://www.batteryspace.com/polymerli-i ... AID=314743" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
A PCB: http://www.batteryspace.com/pcbfor111vl ... AID=314743" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
And a smart charger: http://www.batteryspace.com/smartcharge ... AID=314743" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I would pick up these if wanting to attempt a portable gamecube!

Re: ebay batteries
Should we just assume that all foreign ebay batteries are crap?
And is there any cheaper useable substitute instead of those three things u just mentioned? I feel like if I bought those I would blow up the batteries, because I don't really know anything about batteries in general.

But it looks like if I want to get that shipped to Canada, there's going to be an extra 45$ handling charge...
Are there any Canadian modders who have found good distributors in Canada, or is batteryspace pretty much the international standard?

No almpost all of the 7.4v camcorder batteries from Ebay are fine and do what they say they will do.unicycler17 wrote:Should we just assume that all foreign ebay batteries are crap?

It's these dang 12v blue/black ones that they are trying to screw people on.
Basically look at the size. If they are claiming a super small Li-ion or Li-Po with unusually high mAh for the size then they are lying. You can't change the technology. Only so many mAh in a certain amount of space with these things.
