With my very simple n64 completed I decided to take the next logical step, and move up to a Gamecube. I found a Gamecube for a good price at a goodwill store, along with an intec battery. I've decided not to use the intec battery because the battery life is terrible, and up until today I was just waiting to stumble upon a pile of money to buy the screen and batteries. Then I found it. I now have a portable dvd player (with a broken laser assembly) with a video input and a 7.4v 3700 mAh Li-Ion battery (It's on the lower side, but still more then acceptable in my book). It's got everything that I need, and the board fits nicely with my design. The only problem is that as far as I know a revision C Gamecube can not run on any less then 10.2v. Should I buy a step-up converter (and can you reccomend one)? Should I save this for another mod? Am I wrong about this Gamecube needing 10.2v? Thanks!

I'm not sure about the exact cut off voltage, but I know you'll need more than 7.4v
I am currently working on a GCp and using a portable dvd player case too. And trust me... it ends up being a lot harder to put the disc drive in then you would expect But overall, the Gamecube will work in a portable dvd player, but just make sure to make holes/indents in the top screen part so that the top can close without hitting the controls.
And the mah of those batteries will last you just over an hour. If that

Awesome, an hour would be great (as it will play and charge, and I probably have a car adapter around somewhere). I doubt I'll be using the actual case from the portable dvd player, just the guts (the case is not in mint condition, I'll leave it at that). I'll have to find your worklog (I think I did see it somewhere around here).

I think I need something like this: http://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/p ... 4050c.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Only this one takes an input of 3.3-5v and outputs 12w. I believe I need an input of 7.4 and an output of atleast 21w. I can't seem to find anything though. Any help would be appreciated!
