I want to run a PAL disc on my NTSC GC. Is there a mod to do this, or is my only option a modchip? If I do need a modchip, can I get one for under $20?
In addition, is there a way to run that PAL disc on an NTSC Wii without a modchip? Or homebrew?

easybuy2000 (the company that sold the x-rom GBA flash cart) used to do this mod years ago, before they disappeared.

@Alex_Brodie: I'd seen that mod before, but it only works for NTSC-J games on an NTSC system.
@Nevermind1534: I've seen some chips for around $40, but I can import a PAL GC for about $25. I don't know what would happen if I used a PAL console on my TV, though. It's an Insignia LCD, but I don't know if it's multi-region capable.

Oh, I think you might be right. I guess you could try and see hoe it turns out. If it's like the NES or SNES, it will still output an NTSC signal.Tibia wrote:@Alex_Brodie: I'd seen that mod before, but it only works for NTSC-J games on an NTSC system.

Pal gamecubes can run at 60hz so it shouldn't be a problem.Tibia wrote:I don't know what would happen if I used a PAL console on my TV, though. It's an Insignia LCD, but I don't know if it's multi-region capable.

If the Wii is softmodded I'm pretty sure you can load the PAL game using a backup channel (Just set it to force NTSC).
