Minimum Xbox PSU?

Post by Creebo » Sat Jul 10, 2010 12:31 pm

Does anybody know what the absolute minimum wattage that the Xbox's motherboard can run on? I plan on doing a slim -- nay micro Xbox and I want to get the cheapest PicoPSU possible. Thanks!

picoPSU-120 + 102W Adapter Power Kit Price: $55.00 http://www.mini-box.com/Power-Supplies- ... heLe3qMby0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

vs

picoPSU-150-XT + 102W Adapter Power Kit Price: $69.50 same page

Since you are looking to go with an AC/DC in this case I should think the cheaper one would pump out the same amount of watts since they both are capable of pumping more than the 102w included.

Just wondering, I could probably use a 360's power supply as sort of an external brick right? I'm just trying to look at my options here, and I'm assuming a 175W 360 power brick would be more than sufficient for an original Xbox's PSU. I'd have to step down to 3.3v to fully support the mobo but I don't think there would be any other problems.

Again, trying to do this for as cheap as possible so a $20 360 PSU is much better than $60 for a PicoPSU with a power brick.
