playstation 2 problems

I have a phat ps2 that had a bad laser. I changed it out and now when I put a disk in it, it will start to spin then stop. Then after 2 to 5 minutes depending on if it is a ps2 ps1 or dvd it will finally load. Once loaded it will play for hours with any problems. I have cleaned everything in it. I can not seem to find what the problem is. Anyone know.?
