For the Gamecube, I see a lot of see through circle jewels on Youtube and Im not sure the best way to make one and how people are mounting it because after you cut the circle in the lid to make it see-through theres nothing to mount it on. Any tips? Thanks.

Like when you pop the GC logo? You have to cut out that circle, then cut a perfect circle of plexi, then put glue on the edges, then place it in there. You can make the circle as big as you like but glue on the edges of the plexi is the only way anything is gonna stay.

If you want to clear the original gc jewel, I would suggest using a rag and brasso. It'll clear that jewel pretty quick. But after you cut the bottom part thing... Aren't there tabs on the gc jewel? Just glue those to the underside of the lid...

I don't think he wants to clear the log off, make a SEE THROUGH window, clear, but then again since he hasn't answered, who knows?Metroid fan wrote:If you want to clear the original gc jewel, I would suggest using a rag and brasso. I want it like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4eaSKIQ4Ss
Have you guys actually done it before? Dark aries I dont think gluing it to the sides would work very well. There has to be something you can mount it on. I was thinking cut the hole out but leave a small lip all the way around for the jewel to rest on, and glue it there.

Have you ever used Crazy Glue? That thing makes plastic fuse or something. But yes if you had the tools to make a lip Go ahead, that would be a much better method. It would take much longer and you would need the proper tools. Good luck either way!Custom NES Dude wrote:I want it like this - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K4eaSKIQ4Ss

Well, what appears to be a jewel is actualy just a sticker. Peel it off, it makes a good template for later. I cut out the remaining plastic w/a dremel, then sanded down the edges. Using acrylic, I scored a circle the exact size of the sticker, and then had to sand it down a lot to get it to fit. Of course, I haven't gotton any spuer glue yet, so I used hot glue temporarily.
I'll post a vid here soon

THe jewel is not a sticker. It is a thing piece of plastic. You pop it out form the back, then you have a thin plastic bottom from the case to left to cut out. AS far as I know, the jewel is not a sticker as I have pulled it out and put it back in many times.ShockSlayer wrote:Well, what appears to be a jewel is actualy just a sticker. I'm pretty sure that the original one is a sticker on all of mine.

Mine was bought when it was bundled with Zelda's Collector's Edition, and it still has the Digital AV out port, meaning I have the cable for 480P(Bought it for 8 bucks at local game store!)....I'll show you guys pics that's it's an actual jewel real soon. I'm painting a PS2 right now so I'm tied up at the moment.ShockSlayer wrote:There must be differnt kinds of gamecubes then, as I can show you a sticker.
