The xbox 360 hard drive is just a 2.5" notebook hard drive in a plastic case. If you want to buy and use a larger notebook Hard drive, then the answer is no. Microsoft has special security stuff loaded on their hdd's

ok i wasnt really looking at the hard drive cause 1, there is one hdd for xbox 360 by western digital which can be used, and another is the dvd drive (as long as there is a fatx and dvd dl on it, then id be fine) other than that, i got back my xbox 360 yesterday, and took it apart right away since i had also bought another xbox 360 the other night. But the hdd bay is for using my 120 gb hard drive
