What difference does an HDTV make with the Wii?

So the component cables don't work? The TV is set to look at the component ports, right?

Try unplugging the console for a few minutes and plugging it back in.

Also, wrong forum. Moving...

Try plugging in the composite cables (the ones that come with the Wii). That should prevent the Wii from being on 480p mode and it'll automatically be on 480i mode. But if your TV doesn't support ED, how were you able to plug in component?

I don't want to make an "I'm leaving" thread, but I've sort of lost interest in this board. So if you notice that I'm gone, that's why.

Some Tvs have component inputs but don't support 480p. My 20" CRT TV is one of them.

Ditto with my sisters CRT TV that is around 27"

Regards and as they said just plug in your composite cables and it will be forced to display 480i.

The Will will put out a 480p signal, which is a big difference from composite when running on a big HDTV.
