stupid ps2

alright, my ps2 always has trouble playing games no matter how new they are. itt makes this buzzinng noise and doesn't load then i have to lift it up onto its left side and drop it. It works okay but bugs me. if anyone has better solutions id be glad to hear em

Ive seen a problem like that before, try busting the dvd drive open and watching it in action. there is a worm gear in there with a springy piece of metal it runs against. in my case the spring had gotten weak and the gear was skipping, causing the laser to not move - and making a grinding noise

if its not that, Id say your laser is on its last legs.

I wouldnt recommend dropping it anymore.

It would be the laser guiding arm like timmeh87 said i have had this problem a lot and it has a very simple fix. Open the ps2 up and bend the little metal arm down a bit. If its not metal but plastic it can be more risky so what i do is, heat it up a little with a lighter and bend it down. If it doesnt fix the problem i will send you a new laser arm if you would like.
