Do any of you here participate in tournaments, or use advanced techniques(wavedashing,L-cancelling, ect)? I have made a few videos.

Anyone reserved Brawl yet?

I have never heard of wavedashing but i do use the L-cancel quite a bit. I used to do tournaments back when I was in High School (wrecked people with Fox). But recently I havent played SSB at all.

Yep, I loved SSB both the N64 and the GCN, can't wait for it on the Wii! I've played in a few tournaments down in Los Angeles, I even took home a hundred bucks for one of them. :)

Wavedashing and Fox = Top Tier. :P

Apparently in Melee Pikachu can do 3+ dashes (B-up recovery move). I tried and can't do it, although I can ace 2 every time. Anybody actually performed this feat?

Ya, I got 3 out of him. :P

ShockSlayer, why the hell do you like Pichu (in SSBM)? He's worse than Pikachu seeing he's weaker and does damage to himself.

I Started my SUper Smash Bros File over again, but I have to say I probably suck badly compared to you Shocky.

I mean I cant Beat Normal Difficulty on Classic or Adventure with most Characters, mainly cuz I Get Crazy hand, or Giga bowser as back-up bosses and I only have 1 life left (In Adventure I lose more lives to the 3 Nesses than any other stage)

Best Character:Ness/Fox (Definatly Fox is the N64 SSB)
2nd:Mario/Luigi/Samus/Dr.Mario
Worst Character: Ganondorf, Captain Falcom (God Forbid, most retarted Character in any video game, I mean why the hell does nipples show completly through his clothes?!? and he sure like to grab people, and he has a pistol on his waist and he does'nt use it?)

I've heard of Wave dashing, never used it, don't know how it works. (Probably just as cheap as Snaking in Mario Kart DS, which I have Mastered to get me a 2 Star Rank, and soon to be 3 star)

And What is L cancelling, is that where in mid-air you completly dodge any and all attacks, but render yourself Useless for a few seconds, or is this L cancelling a way of Cancelling out the Uselessness after dodging?

Nintendo was freakin' retarted for not putting in at least System link (And have the Ethernet adaptor at $15 instead of the Normal $30.

I mean C'mon, I can get a Ethernet Card for a Computer for less than $5.

ROY'S OUR BOY! ROY'S OUR BOY!

Actually, I let my friend borrow Melee... I might get Brawl if I have enough money and if there's any left.

Alpha Zealot @ smashboards.com wrote:Wavedashing - How To: Wavedashing is difficult to pull off at first, but with practice it eventually becomes second nature. To perform a Wavedash, jump (hit X/Y), then immediately airdodge (hit L/R) into the ground at an angle. Each character has different timing based on their jump animations/duration. For the most noticeable results, select Luigi, who is known for his long wavedash.

Wavedashing - Uses:

* Edgehogging
* Mind-games
* Spacing
* Wavedashing forwards/backwards into an attack
* Wavedashing into/out of shield/shine
* Wavedashing into a grab
* Wavedashing combined with normal dash dancing
* Wavedashing upon landing (just the dodge into the ground required)
* Wavedashing into platforms for quicker landings (just the dodge into the ground required)
* And much, much more!

Wavedashing - Common Concerns:

* Attending any large scale tourney will greatly increase your knowledge of the usefulness of this technique (along with many others).
* Every 'Pro' knows how to wavedash and can perform it at will.
* Learning to wavedash does not mean immediate ownership of your friends.
* If you are just hearing of this technique, you are not as good as you may have previously thought, and you are not beyond learning this technique (to stifle the common egotistical beginner argument lodged against this technique). Learning it will bring more rewards than shunning it, so see past the difficultly of learning it and don't be afraid to do a little work.
* Is wavedashing the most important general technique to learn? No. That most likely resides in L-Canceling/Shuffling. Is wavedashing an important technique? Yes.
* Wavedashing must be incorporated into your game over a period of time to fully achieve its desired effects.
