Gamecube Control Shell for WiiRemote

A while ago Nintendo released a picture of a attachment for the Wii Remote that resembled the Gamecube control, because of the Wii Remotes lukewarm reception at E3.

but I havent heard much about it in a while, does anyone know if Nintendo is planning to release this or if it was dropped.

Gotta say, a classic controller where the wiimote just plugged in would be much nicer than plugging the cord of the classic into the wiimote and just setting the wiimote down (in my opinion at least)

Ohoho, so much misinformation here. First of all, this was a mockup made by IGN after Nintendo had confirmed the existence of a Classic Controller, but hadn't released any pictures yet. Second of all, the existence of a classic controller had been known since TGS05. Lastly, the Wiimote most certainly didn't get a "lukewarm reception" at E3, considering it was by far the busiest booth at the show. So no, no plans to release anything like this right now. (I'm sorry if this post came off as aggressive, but the message was just so off!

)
