spare gamecube

Post by Jerimoo » Sun Aug 20, 2006 11:34 pm

I've got a black gamecube that works fine, but the player 1 slot doesn't detect the controller. Could I make a portable out of it, or would that be a big deal?

I might get the screwdriver and open it up to see what's wrong. My other one works fine. Nintendo said they would fix it for 70 bucks. :? Thanks. I just wanted to know if I could still put some use into it.

$70!?! just buy a refurbished one at that cost!

If you can't get the controller working, i'm in dire need of a working laser head!

I'll take that in mind. All the other controller ports work though.

Can't you just use port 2 then? I don't know for sure because I don't have a GC.

Well my main question was: Would that matter when I made it portabilized, could I just replace the 1st controller port damaged part with the same part from one of the other ports?

That's what I want to know. If so, I'm gonna make a gamecube portable.

No, what I mean is can you plug a controller into port 2 and can you still play the game? You might be able to fix it if you take it apart.

No it doesn't work. Only on Super Smash Bros. Melee.

If I remember correctly, you can wire the controller directly to port one.

Chop the cable up of the GCN controller and wire the wires directly to the GCN console.
