I was going to go and buy some during the week.. I've scraped off the old thermal crap because its useless. I sanded down the bottom with grit 400 and used some rubbing compound to give it a nice polished surface.

The finish on the bottom isn't as crude as it was before, so at least I made a difference.

Do you think sanding the IBM logo off the CPU will make any difference to heating? Or do you think I shouldn't risk it?

Just on a quick note. I compiled together all of the components including the heat sink, they wont fit inside a 11 x 13 x 5 cube.

And I think if I can't make the Gamecube less than half of it's original volume, this isn't a worthwhile project.

I'll take measurements and do diagrams for you to look over soon.

a nice i see that your working an a mirco gamecube

well so am i i have been a bit occupied so i couldn't get it finished so i'm still busy with making the case
i grinded down my heatsink to about 1/3 of the original size and make sure that the fans are either ontop of the heat sink or either next to it.

my portable gamecube is in a gamegear yoyu might see a topic about it but it's kind of dead seeing i haven't had time

but i have managed to get a gamecube with a gba player , 5inch psone screen and everything else into a gamegear only the thickness is a little less that double that of a gamegear pretty small if ya ask me and the lens doens't stick out is made a cover for it but i'm still busy might put up some pics of my case

since i've been busy with making everyting as small as possbile i know how to make everyhtinh the smallest as can be to my knowlege

the motherboard you have can be made much smaller if you want it to be
but yout just need to hardwire everything to the motherboard in stead of using the pinpoint that it has now

if you need any info just let me know

I grinded the heat sink down by half..

I'm going to grind off the left side to fit the fan there. That way I can have the memory card at the back where I was going to have the fan.

I started splodging together the old cooling paste on the heat sink and man does that stuff suck!

I'm going to solder everything together now.

I took off the control port board and rewired it. you could take off more board that way. also have the control port board face up so its on top of the case.

I started soldering all of the 100s of wires to the board... Cutting, tinning and soldering 100s of wires is a female of the dog species.

Got those photos yet MM?

Plexi. Then I'll spray it from the inside to give the outside a nice glossy coat look.

Soldering all these holes is hard work. I need to solder suck out each and every hole, and some don't want to know.

Any suggestions?
