I was going to go and buy some during the week.. I've scraped off the old thermal crap because its useless. I sanded down the bottom with grit 400 and used some rubbing compound to give it a nice polished surface.atari2600a wrote:You're using some sort of CPU Coolant, right? The finish on the bottom isn't as crude as it was before, so at least I made a difference.
Do you think sanding the IBM logo off the CPU will make any difference to heating? Or do you think I shouldn't risk it?
Just on a quick note. I compiled together all of the components including the heat sink, they wont fit inside a 11 x 13 x 5 cube.
And I think if I can't make the Gamecube less than half of it's original volume, this isn't a worthwhile project.
I'll take measurements and do diagrams for you to look over soon.
