That thing isn't Portable! It's huge! It's stuck only where there's a wall outlet! Why doesnt Gizmodo ever report on the awsome GCps from this site?

Wow, that looks really cool. I wouldn't mind carrying that around and playing it just to make people say "What the copulate?"

Well I signed up (as invited by Turbo Tax 1.0)... Glad some of you liked it.

I wish these sites got my name right though, it's Ben Hartland not Ben Harklin.

Hey Mr. Hartland. I really like you work, seems really cool. Care to reveal the more technical specs?

Sure. I used a 4gamers screen which sucks because it occupies the majority of the space I saved by removing the ports from the cube in the first place.

I ruined a perfectly good optical unit trying to minimise the size of it..

Because of the fan and the controller boards being where they are, it was difficult to crush everything into a more compact space.

It's only around 1cm taller than a normal cube, and I made it the height it is (from the front panel / screen) so I could leave the handle on it to use as a stand to keep it upright should I connect 4 controllers to it..

If I were to lop off the handle, I could lose 2 inches in height.

If I were to put the controller boards closer to the back of the screen and had a custom top I could have saved another inch. If I had put the controllers closer to the case I could have saved about half an inch.

I left the handles on the controller for grip.. I noticed some of the portable cubes I've seen cut them off which might make things more awkward to hold.

Things I'd change?

4gamers screen is WAY too big and it ruined this project.

Any tips on making the Gamecube parts smaller?

if the screen's so big, just replace it with a PSone screen. they're less than 1/2 inch think :)

I know, but at the time, I couldn't find one to save my life.. It's like they've gone extinct or something where I live.

Changing the screen now would mean spending more money, and I'm just about finished with spending money on this.

Just need toget batteries for my camera and then I'll make a video.
