EDIT: Would this battery layout work?

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

EDIT: Would this battery layout work?

Post by joevennix » Sun Jan 22, 2006 11:20 pm

Okay, so my p64 is nearing completion, but I still don't have the batteries! I've thought up a couple of different ideas, but this one seems to be the best, if it works. Basically, I could just use a Ni-MH 9.6V pack from Radioshack. I've already received my *complimentary* 3.3V converter from TI (yes, gmail.com addresses will in fact work), and since it has a 9V minimum voltage input, I was wondering that if the battery pack would run down to say 8.9V or something, whether or not the p64 would turn itself off due to lack of the 3.3V. How long would it take to run down to 8.9V? A while? Should I make a custom battery pack, maybe a 12V one? If so, can I still use the Radioshack charger? Thanks.

don't worry, it will.....who doesn't want an N64 ;)?

(like random strangers on the street who buy things that are technically stolen!!! *sniff*....I want my original N64p back ....)
Without games my life would have no meaning.
Well, I guess it would, but it would be a lot less fun!!!!!!!

...Excellent. My p64 is really coming together... all that's left is putting the screen on and ordering the vinyl sticker. Can this be done through Kinko's?
I'll post pics soon...

the dc-dcs will actually run off voltages as low as 7.5, but they start to act real screwy. i dont think 8.9 would be a problem, and your battery pack would be at like 10% before it ran that low anyhow.
