I recently purchased a bunch of PAL SNES controllers, and was surprised to find that some of them contained a pair of 4021 IC's rather than the typical single V520B. This may not be news to anybody, but I hadn't heard of it before or seen one before, and I thought it was interesting. I have seen PAL, NTSC-U, and NTSC-J controllers all use the same exact PCB with the addition of a couple of resistors on the PAL controllers, so this is the first time I've seen a different PCB, and the fact that they actually used 4021's was kind of cool.

Re: Official SNES controllers using 4021's
Well, looks like this has already been discussed here on bh http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=38504" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; However, I would like to comment that it is not correct to say that -102's have V520B's and -005's have 4021's. All of my PAL controllers are -005's and about half of them have V520B's.
