Help Me!

Help me! My N64 won't turn on at all. I haven't even taken it apart yet, and it just isn't working.

Steps I took:

I first (meaning before it broke) put in an expansion pak to play Majora's Mask.

Then I tried it, and the light didn't turn on, and nothing showed up on my screen. Then I tried the Jumper pak, and still nothing happened.

What happened to my precious N64?!

You might try taking the game out and turning it on for about five seconds. Sometimes you have to do that when you mess with the expansion slot (expansion pack and jumper pack dealie). But... if your LED isn't even coming on, that's kinda wonky. Check and see if the power supply is warm; it should be, if it's plugged in. The only other thing I know to do is to bust out a voltmeter and (carefully) check the leads on the power supply to make sure you're getting 12v and 3.3v in the appropriate pins. Though actually you only need three of those; all the grounds are tied together in the N64 and likewise with the two 3.3v pins. Anyways, unless your N64 has deep sentimental value (which it may; I worked REAL hard for my first one and I refuse to take it apart) then I'd just recommend hitting up the local Gamestop for one. They run for $20 used. But see if you can figure out what the problem is first, eh?

There is no "size" of expansion. All you do is buy an expansion pak from EBgames.

To the best of my knowledge, 4 MB was the only size the expansion pack came in.
