Need advice on SNES repair.

Post by agentwd40 » Wed Apr 11, 2012 1:00 pm

Okay... so I bought an SNES off of ebay with a damaged AC adapter port... here is what the damage looks like: http://imgur.com/4xkRk" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Compared to what it should look like: http://www.8-bitcentral.com/images/nint ... /rear2.jpg" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

What I want to know is... would soldering the two pins in the broken port together so that they both make contact with the pin in the AC adapter complete the circuit and fix it?

:facepalm:
No.
Sorry to be so rude, but that would not work.
What you need is a replacement end of the adapter.

K. Ill probably just low tech it then. The console works as long as i line up all the pins by wiggling the adapter, but the slightest jostle makes it fall out of place. Ill just hot glue it.

Wait a minute, how does it work? One pin goes inside the adapter, and the other touches the outside of it, right?
