Using a psone ac adapter to charge batteries

Can I use the psone ac adapter to charge the batteries in my SNESp? The batteries I'm using are the mobile power one battery pack, a battery that sat on the bottom of the psone and let you play it for about 2 hours. There is already a charge protection board with the batteries

No.

Provide a little more detail on the batteries.

The battery pack is a 7.2V 3800mAh battery back. I think it is a NiMH battery pack. The is a circuit board attached to the batteries which I assume is some sort of protection pcb. I thought the psone adapter would charge the battery because the battery was originally designed for the ps1 and the connector to the charger is the same as the type of connector on the ac adapter
