Can i strip the original YRW (composite) cord from the n64 and connect it to the ps1 screens thin wires already in place? Without removing the port to the n64 and ps lcd screen . Also, do i need a ground all 3 outside wires of the composite cords? and can i leave the rest of the video wires alone on the ps1 screen or cut them and tape them? both units are running off their own power cords into the wall.

thanks

edit:

twisted some wires together and it works. i wonder if the wire gauge difference soldered together will matter?

that doesn't really make a difference because the composite signal lines are so thin to begin with and i don't remember how much voltage they carry but it's like a volt, maybe less.

usually the place in portables where you need to worry about the proper gauge of wire is with the power wires.
