So you might have seen those 1st party controllers on ebay that lack the Nintendo branding, and are "brand new" for cheap.
In short: they work, but they're crap. Standard pot based analog.
Only bonus is that the pcb has the buttons nicely labeled. How convenient.
Plastic shell is a straight up copy of the original. The plastic itself will probably yellow in a couple years. Buttons are stiff but work. Analog is kinda loose but doesn't grind.
Labeled button connections. Even the analog pots are labeled on the back.
DO NOT TAKE APART THE ANALOG EVER
Seriously I spent more than an hour trying to squish everything back in there. No lubricant in there so it will probably grind away to powder after a couple days of Super Smash Bros
fffffuuuuu

Those controllers look really easy to trim, though.
Are there any components of the back of the board?
EDIT: Just saw the other pictures. There appears to not be any components on the back. Excellent.

Re: Clone ebay controller review
Is the analogue stick the main issue? Because these look super easy to trim, and if you replaced the analouge it would be nice in a small portable.....
Re: Clone ebay controller review
yeah, the joysticks are terrible. the buttons aren't that bad, but if you're using just the board, no problem.

I had touble with the stick mod on the board, up, down, left, right worked, but diagonals didn't
Re: Clone ebay controller review
Wait, did you take stuff off the board, or are there NO components on that board at all?
Re: Clone ebay controller review
He was wondering about components on the BACK of the board (which there are none) for trimming purposes. There are some on the front, but pretty close to the center.
