Cart emulator progress thread

Just roughly knowing the kind of person Marshallh is (I haven't been here long, don't know him super well), and to be sure that I am NOT putting words into his mouth or making promises on his behalf, but if there's a faulty component on it, just like if something went wrong with a portable somebody bought - ship it back, and odds are he'll (or in the case of a portable, whoever made it) be happy to fix it.
Re: Cart emulator progress thread
If you want warranty how about marshall raises the price to $300 and then it includes a five year warranty. Do want? No? I thought so.
I would always prefer a cheaper price tag as opposed to having a warranty.

buttheadrulesagain is actually making some very valid points. I'm just goku.
Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Yes that's possible, but then you'd have to cut the case yourself and make your own label. If he offers to sell the PCB itself sans case/label, I would do that, but I don't want to pay the full price, then have to assemble another case myself.Triton wrote:you can put it in whatever case you want. Will the 64drive be offered only in a grey case?
As for the warranty, I'd guess he'll honor any defects, as opposed to someone breaking it themselves.
Re: Cart emulator progress thread
why bother with cutting a case brand new, just go to a pawn shop and buy all their madden games, no one cares about those, then just switch boards and stickers....my only concern would be if I got it and it didnt work, but im sure the guy will test each one before sending it out.
Now all that needs to be done is making it able to play nes, snes, and gameboy games....(yeah wishful thinking)

It was playing D-pad Hero at MGC, so it at least does NES games.Ansem wrote:why bother with cutting a case brand new, just go to a pawn shop and buy all their madden games, no one cares about those, then just switch boards and stickers....my only concern would be if I got it and it didnt work, but im sure the guy will test each one before sending it out.

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
iirc he told me it could do NES with only a slight frameskip, not really powerful enough for SNESjdmlight wrote:It was playing D-pad Hero at MGC, so it at least does NES games.Ansem wrote:why bother with cutting a case brand new, just go to a pawn shop and buy all their madden games, no one cares about those, then just switch boards and stickers....my only concern would be if I got it and it didnt work, but im sure the guy will test each one before sending it out.

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
I's been gettin busy
Boards for beta testers
Spent an average of 1 hour soldering and 8 hours on each board to find the tiny whisker of solder that seemed to be on every board and caused a catastrophic short.
Reflow soldering for any more past this point, haha.
oh, btw the text on the site is boilerplate legal, and has nothing to do with the product warranty, because it's not for sale yet.

Re: Cart emulator progress thread
Those are some very nice boards. Looking great.
You mean you've been doing all that soldering with an iron and a litre of flux? You're a better man than I. What kind of reflow will you be using? A hot air blower or an oven?marshallh wrote:Reflow soldering for any more past this point, haha.

Now, my only great concern is the following: where do I put my damn money (shoves money into DVD drive)?marshallh wrote: oh, btw the text on the site is boilerplate legal, and has nothing to do with the product warranty, because it's not for sale yet.
Joke aside, I'm glad to hear this. this is gonna be great, thanks again!
