Need help for my battery

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Hello , I bought a portable DVD player to take the battery for my n64 portable but on this li-ion battery , of 7,4V, there is 3 wires :
-a red one : -
-a black one : +
-a white one : ??
What is it for ? charging ?

I'm pretty sure its ground. :| You should check with someone else to make sure.

The red one is - so its ground , well , I think :D but I don't know what the white wire might be.

I think that the white wire is useless , I know it may be strange but I wired everything the battery , the screen , the n64 and it works , I cancharge the battery with the charger and the red/black wire and everything work :P , what do you think :?:

if its a 7.4volt battery, its a 2 cell.

the white wire is quite possibly connected to where both cells connect to each other, because the battery is meant to be balance charged to keep the cells at the same voltage.
