the CPU on my N64 overheats very quickly, it's too hot to touch it within 20 seconds. the n64 doesn't put put video and all of the work done to it is in argelfraster's post. should i replace the CPU?

You should probably add some info on the system, but I guess I will.
The N64 board is chopped up, powered by batteries, sports a cart slot relocation, and is connected to a PSone screen.

Is that... feasable? And if it was, what says the one you put in will not be instantly broken by the same problem when you power it all up again?Bandrien wrote:should i replace the CPU?

Re: CPU too hot too quick
If the chips on the n64 get very hot very quickly it means it's fried.
