Grape64 FINISHED Pictures and Video on page 2
Wow. That looks amazing. I haven't seen a portable with clean casework like that in a while. I like the translucent purple, you can't hide anything behind bondo. Nice work!

This is a fantastic looking portable! The translucent purple reminds me of the GB Colors!
^^^Just copy+paste that, and it should be all set!

I'm jealous of your design! Awesome work! I love the hinge that the tackle box gave you, and the fact that the Nintendo logo fit by chance on the screen bezel - it was meant to be
My wife loves purple and I've promised her for the last couple of years I'd make her a purple N64. If she comes across this portable, she's going to insist I make one immediately for sure!

Yum, purple. I love the translucence, it shows how well and tidy it all fits in there.

Okay if I just make an exact clone of your portable? 'Cuz... that's what I wantPkmnjunky7 wrote:Thanks! Hopefully your wife sees this and forces you to make an n64 portable, I would love to see your take on it!
Where did you get your heatsinks? And with what did you attach them? The plastic surrounding the Z buttons - are those original controller parts or molded plastic you made? And the black plastic below your screen with the N64 logo - what is that and how did you make it? I am inspired, sir

Fine by me! I nearly cloned your snes portable when I built mine. haha. I didn't do it on purpose, but you were a big inspiration!Life of Brian wrote:Okay if I just make an exact clone of your portable? 'Cuz... that's what I want
I got them on ebay. They were like these, Idk the exact seller though. You'll need to buy two sets of 8 to cover everything. It takes 4 to cover the CPUWhere did you get your heatsinks?
A small dab of super glue on the bottom of each heat sink. Works really well and doesn't show any sign of letting loose. And with what did you attach them?
The plastic surrounding the Z buttons is the original controller plastic, just cut up and sanded to the right shape. I bought a bunch of controllers at a flea market, so I had plenty to experiment with. The cartridge cover was a black project enclosure box from RadioShack. I just took an n64 game with me and looked for one that would do. I think it was this one.The plastic surrounding the Z buttons - are those original controller parts or molded plastic you made? And the black plastic below your screen with the N64 logo - what is that and how did you make it? I am inspired, sir
Good luck! I really look forward to seeing you tackle the N64! If your curious about anything else I did just let me know! I'm not an N64 expert by any means, but I do what I can to encourage others!

What I meant was this black plastic on the front:

Woops! Haha, I must have read that wrong. I somehow missed the part about being under the screen. That plastic started as a sheet of 1mm thick plastic from a "For Sale" sign that I picked up at walmart. I just cut a long rectangular strip and glued it to the front with super glue, then i bent it around and glued it to the back as well, After it was glued down on the front and back of the case I cut a slit in it so that the case could open back up again.
