Hey guys,
I just though up this interesting idea while I was thinking of the things I could make out of my old N64, and I can across thing interesting idea. What if someone with the ability to code could make a bot simulator. The way it would work is you plug it into the empty controller ports. Then, say you want to play some multi-player; you go through the menus as usual but when you go to play, there will be three other players, whom are bots playing. Sound logical or do it sound like a bad idea??
idea for adding bots to a non-bot n64 game....

It would be cool, but programming a bot to control a controller to be good at just ONE game would be difficult.
All of them? Nigh impossible.

not a s simple as programming a bot to a controller port, meaning you'd have to code it in game and edit the ROM which is nigh impossible due to set sizes (correct me if im wrong?) so it would require some serious RAM hacking, but i doubt that would work

possible. *throw controller idea out window.*
you could make a cartridge that has the game on top of it. (Like a game shark.)
its uses extended memory to host its code. and it could play games missing the cpu players option.

Its a creative idea but to program a bot to work through the n64 controller and the bot would work for just one game really isn't worth the headaches the undoubtably follow. Plus just about every multi-player game has a fuction built in to have a cpu working on or against your team.

AI is not as easy as you think it is.
The only way this might happen is through emulators.
