protection circuit for 7 1.2volt lithium ion batterys

Post by rootbeerben3 » Wed Sep 08, 2010 6:22 pm

My batterys are 7 1.2 volt lithium ions batterys with 4200mah. They came from a portable dvd player. the protection circuit is fryed. When i hook my meter up directly to the cells, i get 8.4ish volts. However, when i hook my meter up to the cells though the protection circuit, i get 0.01 volts. What protection/charging circuit should i buy as a replacement?

Umm... seven 1.2v batteries?

If they are 1.2v batteries, they aren't lithium and dont need protection
If its a 7.2v lithium battery pack then you would have two (or an /even/ number of) 3.6v cells and you get a 2-cell protection circuit.
