Here's my wiring diagram. What I want to do is add a VGA port.

best thing I can think of, has to be a RGB compatable 64

Re: How do I attach a VGA port?
You can buy a somewhat bulky device to convert to VGA... But VGA is not something that you can just hook up to a n64.
These days, the only thing I can think of that takes VGA and not S-Video is either an old computer monitor or a really, really new TV. Why do you need VGA on a portable?

I don't specifically want VGA I just want anything that can output video.
Re: How do I attach a VGA port?
You can't get vga output from an N64, sorry.

If you want video out from your n64p, just take the video line going to your screen, connect it to a 2-position switch, and connect the positions, 1 to the screen, and 1 to an external connector, same with audio, one to your speakers, and one to an external connector.

Re: How do I attach a VGA port?
Appearently my last email wasn't clear enough so here it is step by step;
1. Remove the vga port from what ever you are getting it from (it should have 15 pins).
2. Take 3 of those pins and solder then to the video and audio left and right of the n64 as marked in the wiring diagram.
3. Find a vga cable and cut off one end of it, find 3 female rca ports and solder them up to the same three pins you are using for the video and audio (use the continuety beep from a multimeter if you are unsure of which wire goes to which pin).
4. Now use some electrical tape to seal the cut cable and get a male rca to male rca cable and your all set.
Hope this helps

I don't remember getting an email from you also I decided like 2 days ago that I would use rca. Does this look correct? I don't understand what the gray wire is though.

Oh, well guess I didn't hit the send button then lol but yea this looks correct for using rca... probubly better off using rca then vga to rca.
