Alright ppl!

Just thought I'd show you all what I have been working on and figured a work log would be suitable to do this.

I'm open to constructive critisim, but dont be too harsh as this is my first attempt at making a portable and this is still in the very early stages. I also still have lots of questions I will asking sometime soon. Anyway, enjoy:

With regards to a battery, would this one be ok to use? http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Rc-Tamiya-Car-420 ... 2a06111c72

It's been done. Think Palmer had a WIP N64 in a router case.

Nonetheless, great start! Keep at it!

Thanks guys!

Its a wild things PS1 screen (the LCD itself is made by Sharp) so it has all the speakers and brightness controls aswell but there all seperate from the actual screen.

I know its looking rough at the mo but I should hopefully have a bit more done later so I'll have some more updates pretty shortly.

Just a small update. Just need to add the start button and a tad more trimming to the box then I can start filling and shaping the case.

Be careful using bondo. It's not the best adhesive and cracks easily. It looks really good though; you restored my faith concerning the analog stick. :)

Thanks! :D

I've stuck all the case and buttons together with super glue and then applied something called tigerseal (like thick black glop stuff used to bond sideskirts to cars) and then applied bondo over the top. I suppose only time will tell if it cracks.

Heres some better pics any how:

Should hopefully have another update later today.

Nice, hopefully you can get the scratches out with some high grit sand paper.

Thanks guys.

cndowning: I'm 100% on exact measurements but around 5-6cm thick.

Got a tiny bit more done today. Filled a few marks on the case, just need to rub back the bondo a bit. Got the switches fitted except the start button, I', thinking this may have to be a tact switch though :?

Things left to do:

Get some batteries and a charger
Mount the L, R and Z buttons
Solder all the controller connections up
mount the volume controls, speakers, headphone and charge jack
Glue and bondo the rear section of the case

+

Finish helping my bro make his N64p :P

My portable is now basically finished. All thats left to do is rewire the memory card slot to the bottom of the case. Oh and trim the plastic screen protector.

Heres some pics and a video:

That is a really sick portable. I like the thumbstick where it is, it makes it seem like it's more comfortable to control.
