Help with psone

Post by Dark-Show » Wed Mar 31, 2010 3:36 pm

when i add power to the unit and use the on button i get nothing, not even a green light indicating power. i tried rasing the power to up to 12 volts with no luck (thinking that this would atleast show something on my tv) im wondering if an accidental reversal of polarity might of blone a resistor or small fuse. if anyone has any ideas about this please help.

I forget if there's a fuse on the PSone or not, but feeding it 12 volts could have caused more problems. (They're made for about 7.5, and 9v is pushing it for their screens.)

EDIT: I checked my PSone. There shuld be a squarish grey part near the power input, directy under the "E" in ">EP-GW<". Looks like it could be a fuse; check for continuity with a multimeter.

Moving to Playstation forum...

I broke my psoneP by inputting 12v, the consoles power/ma guide should be fixed, 12v is a bit too much

well i looked at the board and i didnt find the lable you wre talking about but their is one small black (resister/fuse?) on + terminal before it goes anyware in the board. i tried shorting this but that didnt do anything and im not quite sure how to check it using a multimeter. (im a noob :()
