right so i was getting annoyed with the process of relocating my expansion pak so then i decided to find an easier way... so after 20 mins. i found out that on the board you dont have to put a wire on every strip there are little holes in behind some of the strips that you can put the wire to directly so when your soldering the wires they are not so close( im almost done and its been about 30 mins.) so here is a visual image with my not so great art work :
i hope this helps if people did not already know about that i know it made my life a lot easier work log: http://forums.benheck.com/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=36959" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Don't try to relocate the cartridge slot this time. Just let it stay and work around it.

relocating the cart slot is relatively easy even for noob solderers
the expansion however is where i believe he fudged up

Re: sh!T!!!!!!*see newest post (work log)
you mean the expansion pak and i got it to work its just that i was not careful soldering the wire coming stright from the battery and it touched the 3.3 volt and if fried instantly >:(
oh and im probly not gonna redo the expansion pak takes to long

so you relocated the hardest thing on the board, which takes extreme care and precision, and heaps of double checking
and you fried the n64 by

Re: taking a break (work log)
im back baby!! woot! well now that school is officially over, im'a buy a new 30 watt soldering iron and get down to business !! i got 2 weeks free from football conditioning so i am going speed work to get as much done and for my case i have made a decision, i am gonna use a simple Plexiglas box with screws its simple and has a nice finish (also its cheep) ...arg i got a long summer ahead of me
p.s= is it possible to power the whole thing with a 7 volt battery or do i need higher cause when i was wiring up the screen for a test it barely powered and the battery was fully charged (either way im probly gonna buy this http://www.batteryspace.com/polymerli-i ... isted.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
http://www.batteryspace.com/pcbfor74vli ... limit.aspx" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
and what charger should i use im really counfused at picking a charger and wiring it) now OFF TO DO RESEARCH!!

Re: im back baby!! (work log)
you need at least 7.5v to power the thing, or 7.4v. There is like a THIS CHARGER POWERS EVERYTHING charger on the website. It shouldn't be that hard to find.

Re: im back baby!! (work log)
cool and i just bought a new cordless portable soldering iron that heats up in less than 10 seconds its the best soldering iron a geek can have the only down side is that it heats up super hot (too like 1050 F ) so u cant use it for a long time
