Got the joystick hole cut....pics when mounted. I would like some advice also on how to mount tactile switches. I have three mounted and I have to mount 4 more (gave up on C-stick thing).

It's not much, but I'm glad that it's done. I don't plan on painting this but I kinda like the orange on the black. I think It's kinda cool.

as long as you're sanding some of the hotglue/whatever it is away, then the case will look fine.

So I'm a little upset because I ordered my new screen 2 weeks ago but it still hasn't come. So I checked on the tracking thingy and it still hadn't been shipped! I left the guy an email asking him to ship it but if he doesn't in the next couple days I'm gonna do something...........I promise.

 RGGGG I have wired my joystick up like so, but the x axis is inverted (left=right and right=left). But when I switch around the + and - wires on the x axis of the joystick, I get a "No Controller" error.

1. Ebay guy is being a butt and still hasn't shipped after me asking him to and him responding. I just sent him a message telling him either ship or refund by 5:00 tomorrow.
2. Apparently the gamecube joystick cares which way is up. I have tried it by turning it 90 degrees and it worked fine...which sucks because now I have to unmount it, turn it, align it, and remount it . :wtf:

more pics when I get more stuff mounted and whatnot

My lovely innards! With still 7 more buttons to mount plus a dpad ( which I still don't want to include, but I really want a complete portable) there's going to be lots of hot glue :D

Got the C-buttons mounted. A little bit sloppy, especially the right arrow one, but it works. I'll probably fix it later but for now I don't really care. I'm hoping to get the shoulder buttons and the d-pad mounted tomorrow. Then I'll be done with buttons! I'll post pics when all buttons are in and working. Also, after 2 weeks the guy finally shipped the screen. All I had to do was open a case against him and in a matter of minutes he had sent me an email with a tracking number saying he just scheduled it to be picked up tomorrow. :) I feel bad that I had to open a case against him but I was kind of sick of waiting. Two weeks is a long time! :P

I know the C-buttons are REALLY sloppy but they work fine, and thats all that matters to me! :D the shoulder buttons are comfortable but I'm not getting any continuity from them :( . Tomorrow I'm going to try and fix the shoulder button continuity and hopefully get the Dpad in.

The left shoulder button is going to be Z. I might put an L button behind it but I probably wont

OK! Relatively big update  Finished all the controller buttons :D Messed up on the Dpad so I had to cut out the bit from the controller and glue that in there :( but I don't really care about looks for this portable (If you haven't noticed by now) The important part is that everything is very comfortable to hold. I did see this thread....and it's so much better than mine!! Anyway..here are some pics. BTW, is it ok to put glue on the back part of the screen (The white part the the backlight lights up).

Here is the front...lovely isn't it?
Image

Here is the bottom. Those big squareish holes are where the controller ports will go. They're so big because I was originally planning to do something else with the controller ports but I changed my mind.
Image

Here is the left side. Big gamecube shoulder button (Elephant Ear! ) is Z and green button is L. I might switch this but I probably wont.
Image

This is the right side. Again. Gamecube shoulder button = R
Image

Here is the back. It will have the cart slot which will slide down the back gameboy stylee (like most portables do)
Image

Got my screen today! :D But it's a little strange. Its a verge screen, so It's pretty much the same as my other screen...but It has some differences. First off It has an extra section in the top right (the LED section) but I know it's NTSC. There is an LED but it's on the detachable section. Also there seems to be a missing regulator. The one in the lower left (sort of) where youre supposed to solder the 7.5v line to in the cutting diagram in the screen section of the forum, is gone. Instead the power line was soldered to where the circle is. There are also some extra capacitors.
