Unnamed N64p WIP
Started this a long time ago, got almost nothing done, then picked it up a couple weeks ago. Haven't made much progress lately because I fried my N64 so I ordered new batteries, a new N64, and new PCB etc. Here are some pics for your viewing pleasure. Sorry if they're big. I don't know how to upload smaller sizes on yfrog.

Cartridge slot was redone with different wire but here's this pic anyway.

Here I hooked up my xbox to the screen for testing and it works yay

Your resistors should go to the other leg of the capacitor and then the bottom leg is postive and the top leg is negative

Actually, in the PTH08080WAZ, that's how the battery is wired.hailrazer wrote:Your resistors should go to the other leg of the capacitor and then the bottom leg is postive and the top leg is negative

But his diagram says PTH08000argelfraster wrote:Actually, in the PTH08080WAZ, that's how the battery is wired.hailrazer wrote:Your resistors should go to the other leg of the capacitor and then the bottom leg is postive and the top leg is negative

And that would still be wrong for the Pth08080waz

Are you kidding me?
No wonder my N64's never turn on...
Does someone have a correct diagram for the PTH08080WAZ?

Re: Unnamed N64p WIP
The speakers on my PS1 screen broke so I want to get some new ones. I need some sound. Are there any suggestions to good speakers that won't make it sound tinny and maybe have a mini subwoofer?
I also need some help with the cartridge slot. I've ordered a new n64 since my old one fried
but I haven't really put much thought into how to make a cartridge slot cover. I would prefer not to use abs cement or vacuum form. Are there any methods to making one other than the above?

Re: Unnamed N64p WIP
Spent a while on a Layout picture. I especially like the R and Z buttons on the sides ....(R and Z are the big gray ones and L will be the small purple one)

Re: Unnamed N64p WIP
Phew. Close call. I got everything wired up and working on batteries. Then I did the cart slot relocation and messed up a bit with some dings on the board here and there. When I was all done, I flipped the switch and the LED flashed but nothing. I was really dissapointed because I spent three hours on it all. I looked around and fixed some things that wouldn't cause a problem anyway and spent about half an hour looking at it. I walked over to my computer to order another n64 because I thought i fried it, but i decided to take another look at it. I saw that my ground wire on my regulator had popped off so I resoldered it and it all worked!!
