Z and L switch

Includes but not limited to: SNES, Genesis, Sega CD, PlayStation 1, Nintendo 64, Dreamcast, Game Gear and I guess the Virtual Boy.

Dose anyone know how to hook up the Z and L toggle switch

the negative coming from the pushbutton can be grounded to the negative of the Z, L, or any common ground on the controller circuit board

This probably isn't necessary but it's what I would do because (I might be wrong here) the button needs to have a complete circuit to work. When the button is pressed it completes a circuit so it would keep the loop going.

It only needs to be grounded on one side, all the button inputs receive the same ground. No need to ground it at the point of each button used.

You would be right if there was such a thing as L- and Z-, but this is both just the normal ground, so no. The diagram in the first reply is all you need.
