Need Somw Help on a PSonep

Post by Metal Mario » Sat Dec 26, 2009 5:59 pm

I'm working on a pretty basic Platstation portable, with the original cases intact like Life of Brian's, and I have two questions.

The first being, can I just connect the power source to the ground and +7v on the PSone board, and will the PSone Screen still recieve power via the screen being attached to the PSone?

My second being, how would one go about rewiring the controller with tact switches? It's not like a NES controller where there are two traces and the connections are just grounded out! Help!

the first question should be yes because the power is jack is connected to the screen and the console.

If you're using a Dualshock controller you can solder to the pins shown here (under the black clip on the top left)

that's odd about dualshock's

I have opened a lot of them. It seems that half have the buttons on a normal pcb, and the other half on those plastic filmy pcbs.
