I'm not saying a 10 year old can't do it, it would just really surprise me if you could.
Well, Ive been studying about portables, plus my dad has a dremel tool, and I have a soldering iron.
I still need to get a psone screen and some wires and a 5 D battery pack to get 7.5 volts out of the system.I am using franken case anyways.

If you still want to use standard recharchable batteries go for a 6D pack not 5D, my understanding is that a 6AA pack will last about an hour (40-65mins), so 6D will be about 2.

2-should i use a 12 or 7.4 volt battery?

1) dont use AA's. they arent good. (for this at least) anywho, 8 volts would be fine. it goes into a 7805.

2) 7.4 is more efficient. but whichever you wanna use, both will work.
