Find a 5" screen less than3/8" thick and the right dimensions to fit in the top half.

In other words it's not going to happen.

You would need to build a new case for it.

Well the only 5" to recommend is the Sony brand Psone screen or it's equivalent the Zenith (Xbox,Gamecube.Ps2) 5" screen.

You will need a 7.4v battery for the screen (you'll want better battery life than the crappy 1 hour the built in battery will provide), then use a step-down regulator (either switching or linear) to get 5v for the system. Then use the composite line that was going to the old screen to hook up to the Psone screen.

But seriously, if you do not know any of this it is probably beyond what you can do. Not being ugly just honest.

Hey Ace -- I just received a FC16 v2, and verified that there still is a place to solder a lockout chip on the pcb. My question is about your quote above -- I don't care about playing PAL games, just those based on the SA-1 (i.e. Mario RPG). Will adding the lockout chip really allow these games to be played?

It's the only reason why games with the SA-1 co-processor don't work. The same would happen if you were to use an SA-1 game on original hardware with a disabled lockout chip. Simply solder a lockout chip from a Super NES game you don't care about, move the 2 solder blobs on solder points SW2 and SW3, and off you go. Fully compatible FC16 Go(you will lose compatibility with PAL or NTSC games depending on what lockout chip you put in).

Does anyone own the new version 2 yet and if so does it also have the spot for the lockout chip to make it compatible with Mario RPG? Pictures maybe of new ones internals. Also does it suffer from blurry video?
That's Hacking Awsome
